Ingredients
- 2 sheet Puff Pastry (large sheet)
- 1 wheel Brie
- 3 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- ¼ cup Apricot Preserves
- ½ cup Slivered or Chopped Almonds
- 1-2 Eggs
- 1-2 tbsp Water
- 2 tbsp White Sesame Seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Place Puff Pastry sheet on a work surface. Place Brie in center of pastry.
- Top brie with a light brushing of Dijon Mustard.
- Add a generous layer of Apricot Preserves then top that with Slivered or Chopped Almonds.
- Make egg wash by beating Eggs and Water. Brush pastry that isn't covered with the brie with the egg wash and fold all sides into the middle and top of brie. Twist excess pastry dough twice then cut off excess, leaving about a 2-inch high piece.
- Generously brush entire brie with remaining egg wash then sprinkle top with White Sesame Seeds (optional).
- Freeze wrapped brie for at least 30 minutes to an hour (or longer if you prepare this beforehand).
- Place frozen brie on a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in a 400℉ oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let rest 5 minutes before placing on a serving platter. Serving platter should be at least a few inches larger than the brie because when cut it will run a bit - only to be caught with some crusty bread.
- Serve with sliced baguettes and crackers and watch it disappear.
