Classic Herb Stuffing

This is a classic stuffing that you can add just about anything you like from nuts and dried fruit to any combination of pork sausage or chicken livers.

Total Time 1 hour 10 minutes
Course Dinner, Side Dish
Servings 8

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Butter
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3-4 Diced Onions (large onions)
  • 1 head Chopped Celery
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Black Pepper
  • 2 packages Pepperidge Farm Cubed Stuffing
  • 3 cups Vegetable Stock (you can use chicken stock if you don't have any vegetarians dining)

Instructions
 

  • In large sauté pan place Butter, Olive Oil, Onions, Celery, Salt and Black Pepper. Cover and simmer until onions and celery are tender.
  • Remove from heat and place into a large mixing bowl then add Pepperidge Farm Cubed Stuffing. Stir to blend.
  • Add Vegetable Stock and stir to blend. Add more stock if mixture is too dry. If mixture is a little wet just bake for a few extra minutes.
  • Place stuffing in a buttered baking dish and bake in a 350℉ oven for 30-40 minutes or until set and hot throughout.

Notes

Optional Additions
Be creative and add anything you like such as:
  • Walnuts
  • Cranberries
  • Raisins
  • Chestnuts
  • Cooked Chopped Meat
  • Cooked Ground Pork
  • Sautéed Chicken Livers
