Burgundy Poached Pears
This is a classic French dessert. You should try it at least once.

Ingredients
- 8 Pears (1 pear per person)
- Red Wine (to cover pears)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 tbsp Butter
- Crème Anglaise
Instructions
- Wash, peel, core and cut Pears in half.
- In large saucepan place pears and add Red Wine to cover pears, Sugar, Cinnamon Sticks and Butter. Simmer until pears are tender and sauce is thickened and glossy.
- Serve simply on a bed of the sauce. You can also embellish it with vanilla ice cream or vanilla Crème Anglaise.
