Burgundy Poached Pears
This is a classic French dessert. You should try it at least once.

- 8 Pears (1 pear per person)
- Red Wine (to cover pears)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 tbsp Butter
- Crème Anglaise
Wash, peel, core and cut Pears in half.
In large saucepan place pears and add Red Wine to cover pears, Sugar, Cinnamon Sticks and Butter. Simmer until pears are tender and sauce is thickened and glossy.
Serve simply on a bed of the sauce. You can also embellish it with vanilla ice cream or vanilla Crème Anglaise.
