Polenta

This rich and creamy peasant dish from Italy is a real comfort food and goes with many dishes and settings.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Vegetable Stock
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ cup White Wine
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Crushed Black Pepper
  • cups Cornmeal
  • ¼ cup Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder

Instructions
 

  • In saucepan heat Vegetable Stock, Water, White Wine, Butter, Salt and Crushed Black Pepper to a boil.
  • Slowly add Cornmeal and stir until desired thickness. Adjust with more liquid if too thick and a bit more cornmeal if too thin.
  • Add Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese and Garlic Powder and stir.
  • Serve with any variety of meat or fish or just plain with your sauce of choice.
