Ingredients
- 1 stick Butter
- ¼ cup Flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- ⅛ tsp Fresh Ground Nutmeg
- 1 pinch Sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- ½ cup Heavy Cream
- ½ cup Shredded Cheese (optional - white cheddar, gruyere or goat)
Instructions
- In saucepan melt Butter. Add Flour, Salt, Nutmeg and Sugar to melted butter and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- When flour has cooked and has a little nutty color add Milk and Heavy Cream. On a low heat cook, stirring often, until liquid thickens to a creamy sauce.
- At this point you may add Shredded Cheese as an option for an even richer sauce - white cheddar, gruyere or goat.
