Mini Steak Sandwiches on Buttered Rolls & Caramelized Onions

These bite-sized sandwiches are so delicious that this party will get started immediately.

Ingredients
  

  • Paper-thin Rib-Eye Steak (about 2 oz per sandwich)

Marinade

  • 1 cup Soy Sauce
  • ½ cup Water
  • 2 tbsp White Rice Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Pickled Sushi Ginger
  • ½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ¼ cup Horseradish
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil

Caramelized Onions

  • 2 Thinly Sliced Onions
  • 3-4 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Rolls

  • Baby Brioche Rolls (Store bought)

Instructions
 

Marinade

  • Mix together Soy Sauce, Water, White Rice Vinegar, Pickled Sushi Ginger, Dark Brown Sugar, Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Sugar, Horseradish and Olive Oil.
  • Pour over Rib-eye Steak and marinate at least 2 hours if not overnight.

Caramelized Onions

  • Sauté Onions, Olive Oil and Sugar. Cook until onions are caramelized - about 12-15 minutes.

Make the Sandwich

  • Butter baby brioche rolls and grill rolls.
  • Pan-sear steak for 1-2 minutes on each side. Pile beef and caramelized onions on rolls.
  • Optional: add horseradish cream or a flavored mayo sauce to grilled roll before filling.
