Ingredients
- Paper-thin Rib-Eye Steak (about 2 oz per sandwich)
Marinade
- 1 cup Soy Sauce
- ½ cup Water
- 2 tbsp White Rice Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Chopped Pickled Sushi Ginger
- ½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- ¼ cup Horseradish
- ¼ cup Olive Oil
Caramelized Onions
- 2 Thinly Sliced Onions
- 3-4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Sugar
Rolls
- Baby Brioche Rolls (Store bought)
Instructions
Marinade
- Mix together Soy Sauce, Water, White Rice Vinegar, Pickled Sushi Ginger, Dark Brown Sugar, Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Sugar, Horseradish and Olive Oil.
- Pour over Rib-eye Steak and marinate at least 2 hours if not overnight.
Caramelized Onions
- Sauté Onions, Olive Oil and Sugar. Cook until onions are caramelized - about 12-15 minutes.
Make the Sandwich
- Butter baby brioche rolls and grill rolls.
- Pan-sear steak for 1-2 minutes on each side. Pile beef and caramelized onions on rolls.
- Optional: add horseradish cream or a flavored mayo sauce to grilled roll before filling.
