Mini Steak Sandwiches on Buttered Rolls & Caramelized Onions

- Paper-thin Rib-Eye Steak (about 2 oz per sandwich)
Marinade
- 1 cup Soy Sauce
- ½ cup Water
- 2 tbsp White Rice Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Chopped Pickled Sushi Ginger
- ½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- ¼ cup Horseradish
- ¼ cup Olive Oil
Caramelized Onions
- 2 Thinly Sliced Onions
- 3-4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Sugar
Rolls
- Baby Brioche Rolls (Store bought)
Marinade
Mix together Soy Sauce, Water, White Rice Vinegar, Pickled Sushi Ginger, Dark Brown Sugar, Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Sugar, Horseradish and Olive Oil.
Pour over Rib-eye Steak and marinate at least 2 hours if not overnight.
Make the Sandwich
Butter baby brioche rolls and grill rolls.
Pan-sear steak for 1-2 minutes on each side. Pile beef and caramelized onions on rolls.
Optional: add horseradish cream or a flavored mayo sauce to grilled roll before filling.
