Zeppole

This is Italy's version of the New Orleans Beignet. It is simply fried dough dusted with powdered sugar.

Ingredients
  

  • Pizza Dough (prepared separately or buy dough from grocery store or your favorite pizzeria)
  • 3 inches Vegetable Oil
  • Powdered Sugar (to dust fried dough)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Pizza Dough and cut dough into desired pieces.
  • Bring a large skillet with Vegetable Oil about 3" deep to 375℉. Carefully drop dough pieces into hot oil. Cook, turning once, until puffy and golden brown. Remove from fryer and place on paper towel to drain. While hot dust with powdered sugar and serve.
