Apple Slices w/ Caramel Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
Apples
- 2-3 Granny Smith and/or Red Delicious Apples (each should yield about 12 slices)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Caramel Sauce
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- ½ cup Half and Half
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
Topping Ideas
- Mini Chocolate Chips
- Coconut Flakes
- Chopped Nuts
- Chocolate Sauce
- Mini Marshmallows
Instructions
Apples
- Core and slice Apples. Lightly toss with Lemon Juice then pat dry on a paper towel and skewer before dipping in caramel sauce.
Caramel Sauce
- In saucepan over medium-low heat place Brown Sugar, Half and Half, Butter and Salt. Stirring to blend gently bring to a boil then add Vanilla Extract.
- Remove from heat and let cool. Place in container until ready to use.
- Let each child dip their own apple slices in Caramel Sauce and have fun decorating with their choice of toppings.
Topping Ideas
- Have some fun toppings on the side such as Mini Chocolate Chips, Coconut Flakes, Chopped Nuts, Chocolate Sauce, Mini Marshmallows, etc.
