- 2 tbsp Cinnamon
- Pinch of Salt
- 2 tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
Instructions
Choose Your Bread
- Sliced challah (never a mistake)
- Sliced baguettes (a classic)
- Thick-sliced cinnamon raisin bread (always great)
- Brioche slices (usually my 1st preference)
- American white bread (personally my last resort)
Make The Soaking Mixture
- Blend together eggs, milk, melted butter, pure maple syrup, Kahlua, cinnamon, salt, pure vanilla extract, brown sugar and soak bread in mixture.
Skillet Option
- Place soaked bread on a sheet pan and drizzle more liquid over top, cover and refrigerate overnight.
- The next day, in a hot skillet brushed with butter cook French toast 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Baked Option (Our Family Favorite)
- Line a buttered baking dish with soaked bread (they can overlap a little), add more liquid to coat and sprinkle with chopped pecan (optional), cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Bake in oven for 50-60 minutes at 350℉ or until bubbly and golden brown.
