Scallops Wrapped in Bacon

This is a classic and much loved hors d'oeuvre. This will yield 24 hors d'oeuvres and will serve 6 as a first course appetizer or 4 as a lunch / dinner entrée.

Ingredients
  

  • 24 Scallops (washed and dried)
  • 12 slices Bacon (cut in half to make 24 pieces)
  • 1 tsp Crushed Black Pepper
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry Scallops. Cut Bacon in half to make 24 pieces.
  • Prepare dry rub. Mix together Black Pepper, Salt, Brown Sugar, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder and Old Bay Seasoning.
  • Remove a tablespoon of the mixture and set aside.
  • Toss dry scallops in dry rub and coat evenly.
  • Wrap each scallop in a bacon slice. Place on baking sheet with bacon seam down and sprinkle with reserved dry rub.
  • Bake in 400℉ oven until bacon is crispy brown approximately 10-12 minutes.
