Shortbread Cookies

A Scottish treat that everyone loves.
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 32 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Softened Butter
  • ½ cup Light Brown Sugar
  • cups All-purpose Flour

Instructions
 

  • In processor blend Butter, Light Brown Sugar and All-purpose Flour to form dough.
  • Roll dough on lightly floured surface to about ½" thickness. Cut into desired size and shapes with cookie cutter. Place on parchment lined sheet pans spaced evenly apart. Cook in 350℉ oven about 12 minutes or until just golden around edges.
  • Alternatively, cut dough into desired size and with a toothpick pierce dough to make a pattern. For another look use cookie cutters to cut dough in a variety of shapes such as circles, hearts, shamrocks or anything your imagination can think of or cookie cutter you have on hand.

Variation
Dip half of the baked cookie in melted chocolate then in chopped walnuts. Let cool and set before packing.
