Russian Tea Cookies

These small white treats just melt in your mouth. This recipe yields 4 dozen cookies.

Cooling Time 15 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Softened Butter
  • ½ cup Confectioners' Sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • cups All-purpose Flour (NOT self-rising cake flour)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ¾ cup Finely Chopped Walnuts or Pecans (whichever you prefer or use both)
  • Additional Confectioners' Sugar (to roll cookies)

Instructions
 

  • Cream together Softened Butter, Confectioners' Sugar and Pure Vanilla Extract.
  • Slowly add All-purpose Flour, Salt and Walnuts. Mix just until dough holds together.
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls or crescent shape and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes in 400℉ oven or until set but not browned.
  • While still warm roll in Confectioners' sugar. Let cookies cool then roll again in confectioners' sugar.
