Penne alla Vodka
This special Italian pasta dish has become a real American favorite.

Ingredients
- Penne (quantity based on number of guests)
Vodka Sauce
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- ½ stick Butter
- 2 Finely Diced Onions
- 3 cloves Minced Garlic
- 2 cans Crushed Tomatoes
- ¼ cup Chopped Basil
- ½ cup Vodka
- ½ qt Heavy Cream
- ¼ cup Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese
Instructions
- Prepare Penne according to directions - drain - and set aside.
Vodka Sauce
- Sauté Olive Oil, Butter, Onions and Garlic. Cook until onions are soft but not browned.
- Add Crushed Tomatoes and Basil. Simmer for 30 minutes until tomatoes don't taste raw.
- Add Vodka, Heavy Cream, Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese.
- Bring sauce up to heat and toss pasta into pan.
