Hot Dogs

This classic hot dog topping is a must have at any BBQ. Even though I try to eat a plant-based vegan diet most of the time I have to have at least a big bite of a really good hot dog at a BBQ.

Ingredients

  • Hot Dogs (your favorite brand)

Condiments

  • Relish
  • Catsup
  • Mustard
  • Sauerkraut (prepared separately)
  • Hot Onions (prepared separately)
  • Chili (prepared separately)
  • Baked Beans
  • Creamy Cole Slaw

Instructions

  • I like to boil my hot dogs for 3-5 minutes to remove some salt (I don’t know if that is a fact but my Aunt Lilly did it so for me it is perfectly true). After they are boiled for a little while I then either put them in a hot lightly oiled skillet and roll until browned and a little bubbly, or, I place them on a hot grill to lightly char. Or I split them lengthwise and place them cut side down into a frying pan with melted butter and cook until browned. Serve on a buttered and toasted roll with condiments on side.
