Apple Caramel Cake
This is the ultimate fall dessert that is perfect alone or with ice cream.

- 4 Apples (granny smith or honey crisp work well)
- 1 stick Unsalted Butter
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Salt
Batter
- 1 stick Butter
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 pinch Additional Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups Flour
- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
Caramel Sauce
- 1 stick Additional Butter
- ½ cup Additional Sugar
- ½ cup Heavy Cream
Wash, peel, core and slice Apples ¼-inch thick.
In sauté pan place Unsalted Butter, Apples, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon and Salt and sauté until apples are slightly tender.
Butter 9-inch round baking pan and arrange cooked apples in a circle patter in pan.
Batter
In bowl of stand mixer cream together Butter and Sugar. When creamy add Additional Salt, Eggs and Vanilla Extract and blend to incorporate.
Slowly add Flour, Baking Powder and Baking Soda.
When flour is blended pour batter over apples and bake in 350℉ oven for 35-45 minutes or until inserted toothpick into the cake comes out clean. Let rest for 5 minutes before turning out onto a platter.
