Chestnut Puree on Sliced Apples

This is a simple holiday hors d'oeuvre - perfect for the season.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Roasted Chestnut Meat (or store bought candied chestnuts)
  • 2 tbsp Walnut Oil
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 drops Water (as needed if paste is too thick)
  • Apple Slices (peeled, cored, sliced; quantity based on number of guests)
  • 1 tbsp Additional Lemon Juice

Instructions
 

  • In food processor place Roasted Chestnut Meat and pulse until a paste is formed. Add Walnut Oil, Lemon Juice, Sugar and drops of Water as needed if paste is too thick.
  • Toss Apple Slices with Additional Lemon Juice.
  • Pipe chestnut puree on each apple slice. Refrigerate covered to set until ready to serve.
