Ingredients
½stickSweet Butter
3½cupsMilk
1packetYeast
5cupsFlour
½cupSugar
1pinchSalt
1Beaten Egg
1tbspSour Cream
1tbspPure Vanilla Extract
Instructions
In saucepan gently heat to lukewarm and melt Butter and Milk. Add Yeast and let rest 5 minutes to allow yeast to develop.
In mixer fitted with dough hook place Flour, Sugar and Salt. With mixer running on low add milk/yeast mixture.
Add Egg, Sour Cream and Pure Vanilla Extract and blend well to form a dough. Add a little more flour if needed.
When dough pulls from the sides of mixer place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator and cut into desired sizes then let dough rest covered in a warm place until it doubles in size. This is approximately 1 hour but will depend on the environment.
Lightly brush with egg wash and sprinkle with a little coarse sugar and bake in 350℉ oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Check after 10 minutes and if the rolls are browning too quickly tent with aluminum foil. Remove from the oven, let stand for 5 minutes, then turn them out onto a rack.
